Once a large congregation, the congregation is small yet consists in a faithful group of young adults and their families. In terms of membership the congregation is young and consists of people who live throughout Milwaukee. After seeing decline in recent decades the neighborhood now sees gradual improvement.
The church building is the big red brick church building you see as you drive north into Milwaukee on I-94/43, about one mile south of the Marquette Interchange. The building is located on the east side and is clearly seen as the interstate makes a sharp turn to the left on its way north.
Ministry at St. Stephen continues in both English and Spanish. A food pantry is open every third Saturday of the month (except in August) and is located in the old school building. The elementary school was in operation until 1971.
